LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Former Nebraska guard Brice Williams is heading to Detroit, Michigan, after signing an undrafted free agent deal with the Pistons. Williams becomes the fourth active former Husker in the NBA.
The Nebraska men’s basketball team announced the signing Friday.
Despite a record-breaking season at Nebraska, Williams went unselected in the 2025 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-7 wing participated in pre-draft workouts with multiple teams and received an invitation to the NBA Combine in Chicago.
A first-team All-Big Ten selection, Williams averaged 20.4 points per game during the 2024–25 season, ranking second in the Big Ten and 13th nationally in scoring.
He helped lead Nebraska to a postseason championship in the inaugural College Basketball Crown Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he set the school’s new single-season scoring record with 713 points, surpassing the previous mark of 708 set by James Palmer Jr. in 2019.
Williams is one of just four players in program history to score 1,000 points in two seasons at Nebraska. His career total of 1,168 points ranks 22nd all-time, according to Nebraska Athletics. He transferred to the Huskers following three years at Charlotte.
Williams joins former Huskers Bryce McGowens (Portland Trailblazers), Dalano Banton (Trailblazers), and Jack McVeigh (Houston Rockets) in the NBA.
Details of Williams’ contract have not yet been released.
