OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – It will be a reunion in Charlotte, North Carolina, for Jamiya Neal and Ryan Kalkbrenner.
Neal confirmed on his Instagram that he signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Charlotte Hornets. Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.com was first to report that he will join the franchise for NBA Summer League in July.
The move pairs him with Kalkbrenner, his former Creighton teammate, who was selected 34th overall in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Hornets Thursday.
Creighton’s star big man is officially headed to The League.
Neal spent one season with the Bluejays, where he averaged statistical career-highs in scoring (12.0), rebounds (6.1) and assists (4.4) per game after transferring from Arizona State.
In addition to Neal and Kalkbrenner, former Creighton guard Steven Ashworth has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Indiana Pacers.
