Rutgers Women’s Basketball has made several additions to its coaching staff in the offseason to fill holes left behind by recent departures. These additions include two new coordinators, a new assistant head coach, new recruitment staff, and additions to their administrative staff.

One of the most impressive additions to the Scarlet Knight’s coaching staff is that of former UCLA assistant head coach Shannon LeBeauf. During her 14 years on the sidelines in LA, she helped guide her team to 321 wins, nine tournament appearances, 1 Elite Eight appearance, and 1 Final Four appearance. On the recruiting trail, she helped UCLA grab 14 top 25 recruiting classes and two No.1 overall recruiting classes during her time with the program.

Before coaching at UCLA, LeBeauf was at Duke for five seasons, helping the Blue Devils capture two ACC championships, Five Tournament Births, and 1 National Championship game appearance. Before that, she was an assistant at USC from 2000 to 2004 and a player at Iowa from 1995 to 1999, where she played under C. Vivian Stringer for one season.

For their next move, Rutgers decided to promote from within, naming Jeanine Wasielewski the new offensive coordinator. This is her third season as an assistant coach for Rutgers. Before her promotion, Wasielewski worked with the shooting guards and was a Director of Offensive Analystics.

The Knights also hired a new Defensive Coordinator, Sean LeBeauf, who was an assistant coach at UC Riverside for the past four years. During his time with the Highlanders, he helped them advance to the Big West Championship and the WNIT in 2024. Before joining the Riverside staff, LeBeauf was at Northern Colorado for one season where they reached the semi-finals of the conference tournament. He coached Big Sky conference player of the year Alisha Davis during his one season with the Bears.

The next two assistant coach hires are more geared to the world of recruiting as the Knights have hired Dani Edwards to be the Director of Recruiting Operations and James Spinelli to be the Director of Scouting and Analytics. Edwards was the Director of Player Personnel at SMU since 2021 and helped the Mustangs reach the WNIT in back to back seasons.

Spinelli spent the last two seasons at Northeastern, coaching the wings and leading the scouting operations for the Huskies. He was also the video coordinator for five season at Notre Dame beforehand, helping the Fighting Irish with scout footage and anaylitical content during their a few of their recent runs to the Sweet 16 and the Final Four.

The last major shift in the coaching staff is Nneka Enemkpali getting promoted to the role of Chief of Staff after serving two seasons as an assistant coach. With this new role, Enemkpali will now be tasked with most of the administrative work along with tacking the NIL and revenue sharing question along side head coach Coquese Washington.

According to ScarletKnights.com “Enemkpali will also work with external units, collaborating with marketing, sports information and brand advancement on social media and communications initiatives.”

Interim Director of Basketball Operations Alejandro Ramirez has also been promoted to his role full time.
