The New York Liberty are reigning WNBA champions, and Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones stepped out in style at the 2025 Met Gala.
The annual fashion event “brings together cultural figures and style icons from across a wide array of fields to celebrate and support art and fashion,” said Max Hollein, The Met’s Marina Kellen French Director and Chief Executive Officer. Along with Chicago Sky center Angel Reese – a Host Committee member – the Liberty trio were joined by basketball notables including Dwyane Wade.
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James was named as an honorary co-chair for the event but could not attend due to an injury suffered during L.A.’s first-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on! Hate to miss an historical event! My beautiful Queen will be there holding the castle…
