COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – It was reported Friday that an 11-year-long series between the University of South Carolina and the University of Connecticut women’s basketball teams would not take place during the upcoming season.
It is the two teams’ longest-standing non-conference rivalry, and the game series has been played since the 2014-2015 season.
The two teams last met in the 2025 NCAA National Championship, where the Huskies beat the Gamecocks 82-59.
UConn leads the series 11-5, with the Gamecocks only beating them once at home and twice at Colonial Life Arena and twice at neutral sites.
Carolina has yet to release its full non-conference schedule for next season.
