RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (KATV) — It’s a slam dunk for from Arkansas Tech Wonder Boy Taelon Peter, who was selected as the 54th pick in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers.
Peter played for the Wonder Boys from 2021 to 2024, making a significant impact on the court during his college career.
In the 2023-24 season, Peter averaged 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
His performance helped lead the Wonder Boys to a 25-7 overall record, earning them a share of the Great American Conference regular season title, a GAC Tournament championship, and a spot in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
A Russellville native, Peter ranked among the top 10 in the GAC in several categories, including scoring, 3-point field goal percentage, and steals.
He finished his three-year career at Arkansas Tech with 1,321 points, the 18th-most in program history, and 195 made 3-pointers, the seventh-most in program history.
Peter’s accolades include being named All-NCAA Division II Central Region, GAC Player of the Year, and All-GAC First Team at the end of the 2023-24 season.
He completed his collegiate eligibility at Liberty University in the 2024-25 season.
