TUALATIN, Ore. (KATU) — The Portland Trail Blazers introduced their newest draft pick, Yang Hansen, at a press conference on Friday morning at the team’s practice facility.
Hansen was the 16th overall pick, and said he was surprised to be picked as high as he was. Hansen, from China, did speak a little English, but used a translator for most of the questions.
Hansen told reporters he likes to play PS5, eat, and sleep. When asked about plans for his role with the team this season, head coach Chauncey Billups said it was too early to determine.
KATU Sports Reporter Guillermo Motta reported on Thursday that Hansen is expected to wear the number 12; however, at the press conference, Hansen held up a jersey with the number 16.
