Visiting Gateway scored seven runs in the second inning and cruised to a 10-3 victory over the Grizzlies on June 29 on Avon.

Lefty Jaydon Bishop (0-1) made his Crushers debut and gave up two runs in 1 1/3 innings. Then, Gateway got to reliever Brandon Scheurer for seven runs, including a two-run home run and a three-run double.

Burle Dixon drove in the Crushers’ first run with an RBI double to right field in the fourth inning. In the seventh, Jarrod Watkins and Davie Morgan each drove in a run to accounted for the rest of Lake Erie’s scoring.

The Crushers (21-21) are off June 30. They begin a three-game series against Joliet on July 1 in Avon.
