NEW ORLEANS, La. (WLBT) – The Pelicans take Georgetown guard Micah Peavy with the 40th overall pick, the team acquired in the Jordan Poole-CJ McCollum trade earlier this week.
Last season for the Hoyas, Peavy averaged 17.2 points, 2.3 steals, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists a game.
The 6′ 8″, 220-pound guard came into the draft as one of the most versatile players, known for his high-level defense and improved offensive game.
Draft experts believe he could become an effective rotational 3-and-D wing at the NBA level due to his defensive versatility and the strides he made offensively last season.
