SPOKANE, Wash. — Ben Gregg’s basketball career isn’t done yet.
The former Gonzaga forward, well-known as “Mr. Zag,” went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft but landed a Summer League deal with the Boston Celtics, according to Theo Lawson of The Spokesman-Review.

“It may not be a jump but it is a step in the right direction and we couldn’t be prouder of little @bengregg20 for getting an opportunity with the [Boston Celtics],” Gregg’s father, Matt Gregg, posted on X. “See you in Vegas kids! #greggacy.”
While Gregg will suit up for Boston’s Summer League squad, it’s currently unclear what type of contract he agreed to — whether a two-way deal, an Exhibit 10 contract, or a standard Summer League agreement.
A two-way contract allows a player to compete for an NBA team’s G League affiliate while being eligible to appear in up to 50 NBA regular-season games. An Exhibit 10 deal is a one-year, non-guaranteed contract at the league minimum salary, giving teams the flexibility to waive the player without financial penalty before the season starts. A Summer League contract is a temporary, non-salaried agreement that typically only covers expenses like travel, lodging and per diem.
The 2025 NBA Summer League tips off next month in Las Vegas, with games scheduled for July 10-20 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the UNLV campus.
The 6-foot-10 forward had been with Few and the Zags since the 2020-21 season, when he graduated high school early to enroll at Gonzaga.
Across his five-year college career, Gregg appeared in 141 games, made 40 starts, and totaled 875 points, 533 rebounds and 122 assists. He helped lead the Zags to four West Coast Conference Tournament championships and five NCAA Tournament appearances during his time in Spokane.
