The Denver Nuggets made two huge moves on Monday night.
First, new execs Ben Tenzer and Jonathan Wallace traded Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Cam Johnson.
Then, the Nuggets brought home Bruce Brown, inking him to a veteran minimum deal.
With some new salary cap flexibility thanks to dumping Porter’s contract, it doesn’t look like Denver is done in free agency just yet. And the oddsmakers are taking notice.
FanDuel dropped this tweet, noting that the Nuggets’ title odds have shifted dramatically after adding Johnson and Brown and saying goodbye to MPJ.
Odds for the Denver Nuggets to win the NBA Championship next season took a HUGE jump 👀

And since that tweet, the Nuggets have actually moved to +800, which is the second best odds in the NBA. This means a $10 bet on the Nuggets to win it all would pay $80. The Oklahoma City Thunder have by far the best odds at +250.
Behind Denver is the New York Knicks (+900), Houston Rockets (+900) and Cleveland Cavaliers (+950). Others teams like the Orlando Magic (+1100), Los Angeles Clippers (+1500), Los Angeles Lakers (+1600) and Minnesota Timberwolves (+1700) aren’t too far behind.
It’s an exciting day for Nuggets fans, as Johnson is an upgrade over Porter on defense and the two put up very similar offensive numbers. Brown was a key piece on the 2023 title team off the bench, and he’ll look to provide the same during the 2025-2026 season.
Plus, the best player on Earth in Nikola Jokic still plays for Denver. Combine him with Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun and the Nuggets look formidable.
The oddsmakers agree — and a little more than four hours into free agency the Mile High City’s basketball team is turning heads.
