The Denver Nuggets pulled off a dramatic 121-119 comeback victory over the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Monday night. Despite having just one day of rest after a grueling seven-game series against the LA Clippers, the Nuggets showcased resilience and determination.
Trailing by 14 points in the third quarter, Denver mounted a late surge, capped by Aaron Gordon’s game-winning three-pointer with just over two seconds remaining. Nikola Jokic led the charge with a dominant performance, recording 42 points, 22 rebounds, and six assists.

Russell Westbrook, returning to Oklahoma City where he spent the first 11 seasons of his career, played a pivotal role off the bench. He contributed 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting and provided the crucial assist to Gordon for the decisive shot.

Known for his fashion-forward appearances at the Met Gala in previous years, Westbrook was notably absent from this year’s event due to playoff commitments.
When asked postgame by ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne if he had offered any fashion advice to LeBron James, who withdrew from the Met Gala because of a knee injury, Westbrook candidly responded:
“I haven’t talked to LeBron in I don’t know how long.”
Fans did not like Westbrook being asked about James after this game.

“Lebron didn’t even end up going anyway such a weird question lmao,” said one fan.
“Why was that even the question asked,” said another.
“Just ask him basketball questions why does it always have to be LeBron James,” one added.
“That reporter is being messy,” a comment read.
“Asking about an eliminated lebron james after a nuggets win is wild,” claimed another.
James and Westbrook were teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers for two seasons, before the 2017 MVP was traded and signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2023. Their partnership faced challenges, and Westbrook’s recent comment suggests a distance in their current relationship.
