Mississippi State men’s basketball star Josh Hubbard declares for NBA Draft

  • April 26, 2025

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WLBT) – Mississippi State men’s basketball star guard Josh Hubbard has made a decision regarding the future of his college basketball career.

On Tuesday, the Bulldogs’ top scorer and playmaker announced that he will declare for the 2025 NBA Draft.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play the sports that I love,” Hubbard said on X. “To my family, who has supported me through this journey, thank you for the sacrifices you have made to help me pursue my dream. To my coaches, teammates, and the entire Mississippi State University, thank you for providing me with guidance and support to reach this point in my career.”

The sophomore and MRA grad enjoyed a career year in Starkville, tallying career bests in points per game at 18.9, 3.1 assists per game, free throw percentage, and field goal percentage at 88 percent and 40 percent, respectively. He was also named the Howell Trophy winner for the second year running.

Hubbard and the Bulldogs were knocked out of the First Round of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.

The Madison native will maintain his college eligibility.
