Tyus Jones has found his new home. The former Duke point guard signed a one-year deal worth $7 million with the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Jones spent the 2024 season with the Phoenix Suns and has also played with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies, and Washington Wizards during his nine-year career.

He played in 81 games for the Suns, making 58 starts and averaging 26.8 minutes per game. He averaged 10.2 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game. Jones shot 44.8% from the field and a career-high 41.4% from 3-point range.

Jones has played in 682 games during his career and has averaged 7.7 points, 4.4 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game. He has a career 5.53 assist-to-turnover ratio and will help stabilise the Magic’s backcourt, which also features Desmond Bane and Jalen Suggs.

The Magic are looking to make a run in the wide-open East next season and will be counting on several former Duke players to make it happen. They are led by Paolo Banchero, and Wendell Carter also plays a key role for them in the frontcourt.
