Former Illinois guard Kasparas Jakučionis, the 20th pick in the 2025 NBA draft, signed his rookie-scale contract with the Miami Heat on Tuesday, the team announced.

Jakučionis, born in Lithuania, was named to the All-Big Ten third team last season at Illinois, averaging 15 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists on 44% shooting from 3-point range in 33 games. He led the team in scoring, tying the freshman record for total points in a season (494).

He will make $3,658,800 next season, according to Spotrac.

The 19-year-old began playing domestically with Perlas Vilnius in the second division of the NKL. He joined Barcelona two years later and split his time between the first and second divisions before moving to the United States to play at the University of Illinois last season.

Jakučionis is highly touted thanks to his ability to score at all three levels, playmaking, vision and passing. His selection by the Heat was met with praise by some because he projects to be able to step in and help the team in several areas on offense.

The 6-foot-5 standout will suit up with the Heat in summer league, beginning with a three-game stint in the California Classic on Saturday (4:30 p.m. EDT, NBA TV).
