On Monday, there was a possibility of two former Wolverines teaming up in the NBA, close to Ann Arbor with the Detroit Pistons. However, with one being a free agent, he skipped town, leaving the other all alone.

Yet, the dream of a Michigan basketball reunion with the Detroit Pistons is still very much a reality.

Former star Caris LeVert ended up signing with the Pistons on Monday before Tim Hardaway Jr. ended up signing a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets — thus eliminating the chance of a reunion with those two. But according to NBA insider Shams Charania, there will still be two former Michigan basketball players in Detroit as former Wolverines sharpshooter Duncan Robinson is leaving the Miami Heat for the Pistons. He’s signing a three-year, $48 million deal.

Robinson will pair nicely with LeVert and star guard Cade Cunningham, giving the Pistons some shooting prowess.

Once a Division III player in college at Williams before transferring to Michigan, Robinson also worked his way up after being undrafted coming out of Ann Arbor. He spent some time in the NBA G League before making small, shallow waves with the Heat. But then, he started to come on, earning a $90 million contract — the biggest ever given to an undrafted player.
