The Philadelphia 76ers have been rather quiet thus far to begin the 2025 free agency period. After making big splashes in the 2024 offseason, the Sixers are taking the quieter approach in 2025 as they do not have the same amount of resources in terms of cap space and such.

The free agency period has been wild over the first couple of days. The Atlanta Hawks have made some savvy moves, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost an important bench piece, and the defending Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers lost big man Myles Turner to the Milwaukee Bucks who subsequently waived superstar Damian Lillard.

As for the Sixers, there have been some moves, but minor ones thus far. Here is a quick recap of what has happened for Philadelphia:

Agreed to a deal with Trendon Watford – reported 2-years $5.3 million

Agreed to a deal to bring back Eric Gordon – reported vet minimum deal

The Sixers will be looking more so at health to really take the next steps and bounce back in 2025-26. If Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey are healthy, then the Sixers are in great shape to bounce back and be contenders in the East. When considering how wide-open things are in their conference, the Sixers can make that jump and get back to the finals for the first time since 2001. They just need a little injury luck.
