KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The 2025 Players Era Men’s Championship schedule released on Tuesday.
There will be 18 teams headed to Las Vegas for the four-day tournament, Nov. 24-27. All games for the first two days of play are officially set.
Tennessee will play on Nov. 24 in the opening round against Rutgers at 1 p.m.
The Volunteers will turn around and have an Elite 8 rematch against Houston the next day at 6 p.m.
Results from the first two games will determine the rest of the tournament play on Nov. 26 and 27.
Tennessee is 2-0 against Rutgers all-time, but they have not met in 33 years. The last time these two teams met was on Nov. 19, 1992 when the Vols won 87-79 in the NIT Season Tip-Off.
Tennessee and Houston are tied all-time 3-3. The last time out being in the NCAA Elite 8 this past season when the Volunteers fell to the Cougars, 69-50 on Mar. 31. The time before that was in Dec. of 1995.
Game locations and broadcast networks for the Players Era Men’s Championship will be announced at a later time.
