The Golden State Warriors are fielding offers. Jonathan Kuminga is available in a sign-and-trade scenario, but they haven’t gotten a deal done yet. Most Warriors free agency news will hinge on what the team decides to do with Kuminga. Now, a recent report has surfaced of a Western Conference team showing tons of interest in a Kuminga sign-and-trade.

NBA insider, Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, reported Wednesday that the New Orleans Pelicans “want Jonathan Kuminga”.

“New Orleans is trying to work the numbers in a sign and trade with the Warriors to get Kuminga paid.

Kevon Looney signing with NOLA could help too as they’re former Warriors teammates.”

So far, most Kuminga rumors haven’t gained much traction. This one, however, feels a bit different. The New Orleans Pelicans are young and willing to take risks to get back into playoff contention.

A Kuminga sign-and-trade could be the perfect gamble. The Pelicans are building a team of young, athletic talents, and they are willing to roll the dice.

That is more clear than ever after the Pelicans traded for Jordan Poole. Along with the Kevon Looney free agency signing, the Pelicans are already stacking old Warriors on their roster. Why not add one more?

For the Warriors, the Pelicans have multiple interesting pieces they could look for in a Kuminga trade. The Pelicans could also get creative and find a third team to help facilitate things.
