(MARYVILLE, MO) – Former Division II National Champion at Northwest Missouri State and former Drake Bulldog basketball player Mitch Mascari is set to play for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League.

Mascari will join the Suns this weekend for summer workouts and then begin his journey in the Summer League in Las Vegas, which takes place from July 10-20.

As a grad student last season for Drake, Mascari was a key reason the Bulldogs won a program record 31 games and a Round of 64 victory of No. 6 seed Missouri in the NCAA Tournament. Mascari averaged 9.4 points per game, while leading team with 87 three-point baskets.

At Northwest, he helped the Bearcats win the DII National Championship as a sophomore during the 2021-22 season. Four members from that team have now played in the NBA, NBA Summer League or G League. Trevor Hudgins, Diego Bernard, Ryan Hawkins and now Mascari.Â
