High school basketball coaching changes happening in the upstate Tuesday

Legendary Gaffney basketball coach Mark Huff is retiring after more than 3 decades of coaching. Huff was the longtime coach for the boys basketball team at Gaffney and led the Indians to 5 state championships during his tenure. He retired in 2018 but came out of retirement in 2021 to coach the girls team. He has more than 500 wins throughout his career. He also won a state title at Southside in 1992.Greer boys basketball coach Devin Liferidge is stepping down after 5 seasons to be the next head coach at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in Georgia. Liferidge has been the head coach of the Yellow Jackets for 5 seasons, leading Greer to 90 wins and an appearance in the 4A Upper State title game in 2024.
