Cooper Flagg grew up in Maine.

He was a Boston Celtics fan.

And so, although Flagg is currently the No. 1 overall pick with the Dallas Mavericks, there will be rumblings all the time about Flagg ending up back in New England to play for the Celtics.

Sports analyst, and noted Celtics fan Bill Simmons, believes that it’ll happen.

Specifically, Simmons predicts in 2031, Flagg will join the Celtics.

If Flagg lives up to the hype, he’ll be a top-10 player in the league within a few years.

And then if he’s that good, a departure for the Celtics in his eventual free agency would be one of the league’s biggest stories in years.

No need to get too far ahead of ourselves, but yeah, Flagg to the Celtics would be quite the pairing.
