The Los Angeles Lakers lost their first game of the California Classic on Saturday, 89-84, to the Golden State Warriors. While multiple players struggled for them, forward Cole Swider shot 7-of-10 from the field and 6-of-8 from 3-point range to score 24 points.

It was expected in recent weeks that guard Quincy Olivari, who showed promise this past season as a rookie in the preseason and G League, would be a member of the Lakers’ summer league squad. He said recently in an interview that he would take part in summer league play, but he wasn’t listed on their summer league roster.

Instead, he will play for the Brooklyn Nets’ summer league squad.

Olivari earned the love and respect of Lakers fans last fall during the preseason by helping to spearhead a comeback victory against the Milwaukee Bucks. He was rewarded with a two-way contract just after the preseason ended, and he had a number of strong performances as a member of the G League’s South Bay Lakers.
