The leaderboard is jam-packed in northern Illinois as the 2025 John Deere Classic enters its final round with last year’s reigning champion now defending his title and eyeing a repeat bid. Davis Thompson takes a one-shot lead into the final 18 holes at TPC Deere Run seeking the second PGA Tour victory of his career at the same course where he won his first.
In has last eight rounds at Deere Run, Thompson has gone as low as 62 but never higher than 68. Conditions in the area will dictate how low he ultimately needs to go, but a chase pack led by six-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa — seeking his first victory in two years — will be tough to overcome either way. Homa, Brian Campbell, Emiliano Grillo and David Lipsky all sit just behind Thompson, though it may also be worth keeping an eye on Camilo Villegas fronting a four-man group that is three back entering Sunday’s fourth round.
