HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Former Buckhorn Buck and Auburn Tiger, Denver Jones is embarking on his next opportunity on the court receiving an invite to the Summer League by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Denver Jones has proven himself at every level. The Buckhorn product excelled on the hardwood for both Garden City Community College and at FIU before landing with Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers. Jones helped lead the program to a historic season in 2025, now the next chapter of his basketball career comes his way, and Jones is not taking it for granted.
“I feel like there’s a lot that I didn’t really showcase while I was Auburn and I feel like there’s a lot more to Denver Jones that people just don’t know,” said Jones.
The guard had his hills to climb along his path to the league, but it’s a path that speaks to the possibilities and that’s the message Denver leaves for those striving to live out their hoop dream too.
“Aim high,” said Jones, “There’s a lot of opportunities out there. Just stay in the gym, keep working. Trust me people are going to see you and that’s really going to be my message just keep working.”
Denver Jones and the Cavs tip off summer league on July 10th.
