Jayson Tatum shared a new update on his Achilles rehab, showing himself putting in work in the pool as he continues making steady progress toward his return.
Tatum tore his Achilles during Game 4 of the NBA Conference Semifinals against the New York Knicks, a major blow that sidelined the Celtics star for the remainder of the playoffs.
The Knicks won the series in six games.
The six-time All-Star has been sharing updates on his Achilles rehab journey—some more encouraging than others—as he works his way back to full strength.
Tatum also posted a photo of himself in the gym to Instagram, offering a message of self-motivation with the caption, “Keep showing up JT.”
A few fellow NBA players jumped into the comments of Tatum’s post with words of encouragement:
“In due time my brother,” wrote Portland Trail Blazers rookie Caleb Love.
“Lunatic!” added former Celtics teammate Robert Williams III.
The 27-year-old wrapped up the regular season averaging 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting 45.2 percent from the field across 72 appearances.
Before his playoff exit, Tatum was putting up big numbers, averaging 28.1 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game, though he shot just 37.2 percent from the field.
