As far as “Spurs” news goes, this might be the equivalent of an off-off-Broadway show, but Justin Robinson, son of Spurs legend David Robinson, was just named Player Development Coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Devout Spurs fans might recall Justin did play for the San Antonio Spurs in 2021 Las Vegas Summer League. He wore his father’s famed #50.

The youngest Robinson son played forward for Duke University Blue Devils from 2016-2020. Since going undrafted in 2020, he has played overseas in Montenegro and Israel.
In 2023, he was named Duke’s Director of Player Development.
And now he’s made a leap into the NBA was a player development coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.
While Justin was attending Duke, proud father David could be seen on the sidelines dinning Blue Devil’s gear. Let’s hope the same does not transpire. No purple and gold should adorn The Admiral.
