South Bend’s Blake Wesley has a new home in the NBA.
According to reports, the South Bend Riley high school alum and former Notre Dame standout was traded tonight, to the Washington Wizards.
Wesley is getting sent to the nation’s capital…
Along with teammate Malakia Branham and a future 2nd round draft pick, in exchange for veteran forward Kelly Olynyk.
ESPN first reported the story.
And for Wesley, this may create an opportunity for more playing time as he enters the final season of his rookie-contract.
Blake appeared in 58 games for the Spurs last season, and averaged 3.7 points per game along with 2 assists per game.
Wesley was a first round pick by the Spurs in the 2022 NBA Draft, following one season at Notre Dame.
The move will allow Wesley to play closer to home more frequently.
Washington is in the Eastern Conference, and will play two games every year in Chicago, Indianapolis and Detroit.
