NEW YORK (KTXL) – The new head coach of the New York Knicks is a familiar face to Sacramento Kings fans.
Mike Brown was the Kings’ head coach as recently as December, when he was fired.
“There’s always gonna be ebbs and flows in terms of how the hiring and firing process goes,” said Brown on Tuesday at his introductory news conference. “You just embrace it and you keep moving forward.”

Brown, a two-time NBA Coach of the Year who ended a 16-year drought when he took the Kings to the playoffs two years ago, has also been the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers in his career.
“Learning, growing, evolving throughout the course of your time of where you’re at is something that I’m a firm believer in,” said Brown. “And I can’t just pinpoint one thing, but I know I appreciate my time in Sacramento. I appreciate the fans there, and I appreciate the opportunity that Vivek (Ranadive) gave me to run his team.”
