Suns draft pick Khaman Maluach: ‘Sometimes I let the emotions out’

The Summer League, held at UNLV from July 10-20, will feature the Suns’ recent draft picks and other roster hopefuls.The Suns will play at least five games, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs.
Phoenix Suns‘ wing Ryan Dunn was already open to playing in the NBA Summer League a second straight year, even after starting 44 games as a rookie.
“Whatever the front office wants me to do, I’m doing,” Dunn said after the final regular season game of the 2024-25 season, April 13 at Sacramento. “… If I do play, just go out and have fun and keep competing and try some new stuff.”
Dunn and Suns’ big Oso Ighodaro, who was also a rookie last season, will play in NBA Summer League action in Las Vegas for a second straight year.
The NBA 2K26 Summer League 2025 runs from July 10-20 on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Dunn averaged 6.9 points in 74 games last season. As a starter, he averaged 9.4 points and 4.5 rebounds for the 36-win Suns.
Ighodaro started six of the 61 games he played in, averaging 4.2 points on 60.4% shooting and 3.6 rebounds. As a starter, Ighodaro averaged 7.7 points and 6.5 rebounds.

DeMarre Carroll is the team’s summer league head coach. Suns first-year head coach Jordan Ott and Carroll were assistants together last season in Cleveland under NBA coach of the year Kenny Atkinson.
Carroll and Ott also worked together as assistants with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023-24 under Darvin Ham. Carroll’s first job as an NBA assistant was in 2022-23 in Milwaukee under former Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer.
The Suns have their three draft picks from last month’s draft on the roster in lottery pick Khaman Maluach and second-round selections Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea, as well as their two-way signee CJ Huntley and Moses Wood, who was on their G League team, the Valley Suns, last season.
A Suns training camp invite, Wood averaged 11.2 points last season for the Valley Suns, who made the G League playoffs in their inaugural season.
Yuri Collins is also on the Suns’ summer league roster after playing two games for the Golden State Warriors last season as a rookie. He signed a 10-day contract with the Warriors in February 2025.
The 6-0 guard out of Saint Louis averaged a double-double of 14.5 points, 10.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 34 games last season with the G League’s Santa Cruz Warriors.
It was his second straight year playing for Santa Cruz after four years of college. Undrafted, Collins averaged 11.2 points and led the nation in assists with 10.1 a game his senior year in 2022-23.
The Suns roster also includes rookies Bookie Ellis, USC; Jordan Gainey, Tennessee; Mitch Mascari, Drake; Alex Schumacher, Seattle; Solomon Young, Iowa State.

Each team will play at least five games. After each team plays an initial four games, the top four will advance to the playoffs. The remaining teams will play a fifth game among those non-playoff teams.
