Dating back to the year 2000, the Alabama Crimson Tide have seen an extensive amount of success over the past 25 years in the NBA draft.

Since the 2000 NBA draft, the Crimson Tide have seen a total of 12 players hear their names called across the two rounds annually, six of which came within the first round alone.

Those 12 names also spanned across three different coaches at Alabama as well, which were Mark Gottfried, Avery Johnson, and most recently, Nate Oats, while also featuring some of the greatest players to ever put on an Alabama basketball uniform.

Here is a look at every Alabama basketball player selected in the NBA draft since 2000, as well as what each went on to do in the league after.

Coming off a strong freshman season at Alabama in 2000-01, Wallace was selected with the No. 25 overall pick in the first round of the 2001 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings. One of Alabama’s most accomplished NBA players since 2000, Wallace went on to play 14 seasons in the league between the Kings, Charlotte Bobcats, Portland Trail Blazers, New Jersey Nets, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics in which he was a one-time All-Star and All-Defensive selection.

Rod Grizzard, Guard – 2002 NBA draft

Following three memorable seasons at Alabama from 2000-02, Grizzard was selected in the second round of the 2002 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards, taken at No. 39 overall. Grizzard would never appear in a NBA game however.

After two seasons at Alabama, Williams was selected with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft, selected in the second round by the Utah Jazz. Williams went on to play 13 seasons in the NBA between the Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Charlotte Hornets where he was a one-time All-Star, as well as won a NBA title back in 2016 with Cleveland.

Jermareo Davidson, Forward – 2007 NBA draft

A multi-time All-SEC selection, Davidson was selected in the second round of the 2007 NBA draft after his senior season at Alabama, taken with the No. 36 overall pick by the Golden State Warriors. Davidson would play only two seasons in the NBA, coming with the Charlotte Bobcats and Warriors.

Richard Hendrix, Forward – 2008 NBA draft

Following three seasons in Tuscaloosa, Hendrix was selected with the No. 49 overall pick in the second round of the 2008 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. Hendrix would never appear in a NBA game.

Following a lengthy span between picks, Alabama’s next player selected was Sexton, who was selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers following a phenomenal freshman season at Alabama. One of Alabama’s top current NBA players, Sexton will be entering his eighth season in the league in 2025-26 with the Charlotte Hornets, while also having previously seen time with the Cavaliers and Utah Jazz.

Lewis was selected in the first round of the 2020 NBA draft following two seasons at Alabama, taken with the No. 13 overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans. Still playing, Lewis has seen action in four NBA seasons with the Pelicans, Toronto Raptors, and Utah Jazz.

Following a season at Alabama, Primo was taken in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs, selected with the No. 12 overall pick. Still playing, Primo has seen action three seasons so far between the Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers.

Among Alabama’s top current professional players, Jones was selected with the No. 35 overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft by the New Orleans Pelicans following four phenomenal seasons in Tuscaloosa. Jones will be entering his fifth NBA season in 2025-26 with New Orleans where he is a one-time All-Defensive selection.

Davison was selected in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft following his lone season at Alabama, taken with the No. 53 overall pick by the Boston Celtics. A one-time NBA champion in 2024, Davison will be entering his fourth season with Boston in 2025-26.

One of the highest-drafted Alabama players ever, Miller was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets following his lone season in Tuscaloosa. Miller is currently entering his third season with Charlotte in which he finished among the finalists for 2023-24 NBA Rookie of the Year.

Following his lone season at Alabama, Clowney was also selected in the first round of the 2023 NBA draft, taken at pick No. 21 overall by the Brooklyn Nets. Clowney is currently entering his third season with Brooklyn in 2025-26.
