The Brooklyn Nets will get their first glimpse at the rookies they selected in the 2025 NBA Draft when the 2025 Las Vegas Summer League begins play on Thursday, July 10. Brooklyn has done its homework prior to the Draft and decided that they wanted to bring in five players to the team, led by guard BYU guard Egor Demin, the eighth overall pick in the class.

The Nets will get a long look at the first class that they will bring into the organization following the commitment to a full-scale last summer by trading guard Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for a bevy of draft capital. Brooklyn endured a 26-56 record in the 2024-25 season that ultimately landed them with the eighth overall pick, but the hope is that the losing will stop soon.

For someone like Demin, he will be looked to by head coach Jordi Fernandez and general manager Sean Marks to be one of the leaders of what is sure to be one of the youngest teams in the NBA once again. With that being said, Demin and the rest of the Nets will kick their summer league with a matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder so here’s what you need to know to get ready:

How To Watch

What To Watch For

As mentioned above, Demin will be tested from the beginning as he is most likely going to be the starting point guard given how much Brooklyn needs to find out about his readiness for the NBA. The Thunder won the championship this past season and as a result, they will be looking to see what some of their younger players are able to do, including guards Ajay Mitchell and Nikola Topic.

Not only will Demin have to show what he can do against NBA competition, but players like Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf, and Danny Wolf will have to do the same if they are going to see a solid amount of playing time next season. The good news for the Nets is that they will have some veterans on the team with plenty of experience like Tosan Evbuomwan, Drew Timme, and Tyson Etienne.
