New Sacramento Kings head coach Doug Christie is continuing to build his coaching staff. After being expected to add an experienced basketball mind in Mike Woodson, former Kings player and Stockton Kings head coach Bobby Jackson is reportedly likely to return to Sacramento as well.

KCRA‘s Sean Cunningham was the first to break the news, saying, “I’ve had multiple sources tell me that Bobby Jackson will indeed return to Sacramento as an assistant coach.”

After working his way up to Stockton Kings head coach, Bobby Jackson has been with the Philadelphia 76ers as an assistant coach under Nick Nurse since September 2023. Now, he will join a familiar face in Christie as they, as the rest of their staff attempt to bring some spark back to Sacramento.

According to The Athletic‘s Sam Amick, experienced coach Mike Woodson is expected to be a “leading candidate for the Kings’ top assistant spot” under Christie.

As an inexperienced head coach, it’s intriguing to see who Christie adds to his staff for leading the 24-25 Kings.
