IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa transfer Emely Rodriguez was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, where there’s not much of a presence of women’s basketball.
Rodriguez was raised playing with the boys, and she says that made her tougher, trying to keep up with them.
Rodriguez transferred to Iowa after spending her first season at UCF. She has 3 years of eligibility remaining.
