San Antonio Spurs Add Shooting With Free Agent Pickup originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The San Antonio Spurs have largely flown under the radar this offseason, using free agency and trades to bolster the frontcourt around Victor Wembanyama.

The Spurs signed Luke Kornet and traded for Kelly Olynyk, which saw them lose deep bench player Blake Wesley and Malaki Branham, and to replace their impact as third-unit players, they re-signed a veteran.
Jordan McLaughlin, who was traded to the Spurs from the Sacramento Kings in the deal that landed them De’Aaron Fox, will return to San Antonio for another season.
McLaughlin is not a star, and he will not be a starter for the Spurs, although he definitly is able to replace both Branham and Welsey off the bench. He is a pesky defender and solid, low-volume shooter who will mostly play in garbage time, although he could uit up in a secondary role if Fox, Dylan Harper, or Stephon Castle is bitten by the injury bug.

In 46 games last season in San Antonio and Sacramento, the sixth-year guard averaged 2.1 points and 1.1 assists while shooting 41.3 percent from deep.
Granted, his shooting success was on such a low volume, although if he can remain a 40 percent shooter, he will have a role in the NBA and is best-suited as an 11th or 12th man off the bench, which is the role he had on the Spurs last year.
San Antonio still has two roster spots open even after signing McLaughlin, and will likely use the Summer League to fill out the final two spots, perhaps with Riley Minix or Harrison Ingram.
