The Golden State Warriors are currently the only team not to make any additions to their roster during NBA free agency.

In fact, instead of improving their roster ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors have gotten worse with the departure of veteran center Kevon Looney.

Looney signed with the New Orleans Pelicans on a two-year deal. Losing Looney was a huge blow as he was a versatile big man who could play both power forward and center.

With Looney’s departure confirmed, 23-year-old Moses Moody is expected to receive additional responsibilities and could even be played as a PF. But is this a wise move?

With NBA free agency in full swing, NBA analyst Zach Lowe recently discussed the sheer lack of moves from the Warriors this offseason.

The NBA expert expressed his unhappiness over the Warriors’ lack of power forwards on their roster.

“I guess Moses Moody is now a power forward, but the lack of any other power forward on this team is troubling to me,” he said on The Zach Lowe Show.

It’s indeed true. But who could the Warriors realistically sign? Lowe believes one New York Knicks’ star would have been an ‘awesome’ addition to the roster.

“Maybe they’ll sign someone I’m not thinking of. A guy like [Guerschon] Yabusele would have been awesome on this team,” Lowe added.

For context, after having a breakout year with the Philadelphia 76ers last season, Yabusele was low-balled by the franchise. As a result, Yabusele signed with the Knicks on a two-year deal.

Golden State Warriors’ potential free agency targets

The Western Conference has collectively improved this offseason. The LA Lakers have signed Deandre Ayton, while the Houston Rockets have traded for Kevin Durant.

Additionally, the Denver Nuggets are seemingly winning free agency with multiple moves to improve the roster around Nikola Jokic.

However, the Warriors’ front office has been awfully quiet. But does that mean the team isn’t targeting any players?

Well, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Warriors have their sights on Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton.

As of now, there’s no confirmation if the moves will reach fruition, but the Dubs fanbase will hope for an update sooner rather than later.
