David Roddy’s rollercoaster ride in pro basketball will continue with another new NBA team.

Less than a week after his inclusion in the largest trade in NBA history, the former Colorado State star again found a new home.

Roddy signed to the Toronto Raptors‘ training camp roster on an Exhibit 10 deal, the team announced July 10.

He was already part of that record-setting seven-team swap involving Kevin Durant announced July 6, moving from the Houston Rockets to Atlanta Hawks in the deal.

The Hawks subsequently waived Roddy on July 8 shortly after the trade was finalized.

This is now the former CSU star’s sixth NBA team entering his fourth season since joining the Memphis Grizzlies as a 2022 first-round draft pick. He was then traded to the Phoenix Suns in February 2024.

Roddy, a 6-foot-4 forward, played 27 games last season for Atlanta before also spending time with Houston and the Philadelphia 76ers.

In three NBA seasons, the 24-year-old Minneapolis native has played 168 games with 20 starts. For his career, he has averaged 17 minutes per game, 6.2 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 30% from 3-point range.

An Exhibit 10 contract is nonguaranteed but gives Roddy a chance to earn a two-way deal or join the Raptors’ NBA G League developmental team.

Roddy was the centerpiece of a transformational 2019 CSU men’s basketball signing class that produced three NBA players and two more multiyear pros. He was the 2021-22 Mountain West Player of the Year, leading the Rams to the NCAA Tournament while averaging 19.2 points and 7.6 rebounds in his junior season before entering the NBA Draft.
