Steph Curry had a humorous comparison about the golfing abilities of Charles Barkley and LeBron James.

During a press conference at the American Century Championship on Thursday in South Lake Tahoe, the Warriors superstar was asked about the potential of his Olympic teammate James taking his skills to the golf links.

“I talked to him last week and he told me how much fun he had,” Curry said

“There’s something that [needs to be worked with] on that swing, though. He’s got good bones and a good foundation, that if he spends a bit of time, probably gets a little coaching … he’s got potential for sure. So, I’m excited to see it.”

A recent video of James and his work-in-progress swing has the sports world wondering how he would perform on a full 18-hole course.

A reporter then asked Curry what he thought about someone the size of James playing golf.

“You don’t see golfers that tall,” the reporter said. “Do you think he could play out there and maybe even be a competitor?”

“Out here? I mean Charles plays, so probably,” Curry replied.

Stephen Curry was asked if LeBron James could play in the American Century Championship.

His response?

“I mean, Charles [Barkley] plays, so probably.” 😂 pic.twitter.com/O7mHajfrg3

Barkley, of course, is known for the hitch in his golf swing and his dogged persistence at correcting it and improving his game. That still hasn’t stopped people from poking fun at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and broadcaster.

Given Curry and Barkley’s love of golf, don’t be surprised if you see the two of them out on the course duking it out with James. All for fun, of course.
