Professional sports teams across the state of Texas are finding ways to show support for victims of devastating floods in the Hill Country.
Before the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs faced off Saturday in an NBA summer league matchup, players from both teams donned t-shirts that displayed the phrase “Texas Strong.” The phrase is displayed in front of a rope outline of the state of Texas, which is a nod to Camp Mystic’s logo.
Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg was seen wearing the t-shirt as he warmed up for the matchup. The Houston Rockets also wore the shirts for their summer league games this weekend. All three of Texas’ NBA teams will wear the shirts for warmups throughout the summer league.
“When you talk about the NBA in the community, they’re always there. No matter if it’s good, or a tragedy that’s taken place in Texas,” Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd told ESPN. “Texas [is] strong. We’ll come together, rally together and make this a better and stronger place as we go forward.”

Shortly after their game tipped off, the Mavericks shared a link for fans to buy the t-shirts. According to the Mavericks, 100% of the proceeds from shirt sales would go to the Texas Sports for Healing Fund.
The NBA teams aren’t the only ones showing support for Central Texas flooding victims. On Friday, the Rangers and Astros warmed up in t-shirts that displayed the phrase ”Together for Texas.”
