Indiana Pacers fans fume at former player Myles Turner, after he took a shot at the Pacers during his introductory press conference for the Milwaukee Bucks.

He was the longest-tenured Pacer on last year’s Finals team, but Turner signed with the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason in a shocking move to the Pacers’ rivals.

In his introductory press conference, Turner said, “For me, it was ultimately about just staying competitive. I saw a chance to remain competitive here”. That was taken as a shot at the Pacers, who had just made the NBA Finals, but whose star player, Tyrese Haliburton, tore his Achilles.

Pacers fans reacted with rage following Turner’s comments.

Pacers fans immediately took to social media to express their anger at their former star. One fan took to X to say that he had ruined his 10-year Pacers legacy.

They said, “How to kill a legacy 101. Team is literally on the brink of a break up if it’s not a title. Turner will be traded in a year or two book it. Pacers dodged a bullet.”

Another fan said that Turner did them a favour by leaving, saying his poor performance in the NBA Finals was not worth his salary.

They said, “Everybody is upset with Myles when really we should be thanking him. The dude is not worth 30 million a year especially if it meant going into the luxury. He ended up being trash when it mattered anyways. Thank you for leaving @Original_Turner! Helping us when not even trying.”

Turner averaged 10.6 points in the Finals, shooting 37% from the field and 21% from three. A better showing from him, and Indiana may well have been champions.

Giannis leaving and y’all are nothing

50ms though, 50ms, Pacers tank this year and get a top pick with Hali back and they’re right back in the mix

Other fans took to X to express their thoughts on the Bucks’ chances next season with Turner. The big man said he went to Milwaukee to win, but they have been on a downward trajectory for years and lost to the Pacers in the first round of last postseason.

One fan said, “And so he chose…checks notes…the Bucks?”

Another agreed, “I’d put money that the Bucks don’t win anything while Myles is there”.

Myles left the team that has absolutely owned the Bucks year after year because he thinks that roster is going to be more competitive? No chance. Did the Pacers dirty, burned so much good will with a fan base who accepted his flaws. Will be a lot of regret here in the near future

Other fans noted the irony that Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo may leave this summer. Antetokounmpo has been in trade rumours for months after the Bucks failed to surround him with a championship-winning roster.

One fan said, “Until Giannis gets traded halfway through, brother.”

Another shared the same sentiment, adding, “Until Giannis asks out”.

Milwaukee won’t be competitive after Giannis leaves cause they put $50m a year into getting Myles.

Doc Rivers is confident that Giannis Antetokounmpo will stay with the Milwaukee Bucks

During the press conference, Bucks Head Coach Doc Rivers addressed the rumours that Antetokounmpo was considering a move out of Milwaukee.

He said, “Giannis came to me the day after the season and we were talking about next season already. So, there’s far more talk outside of Milwaukee than there is inside of Milwaukee.

“Giannis loves Milwaukee, and we love Giannis. And it’s been a great relationship, it really has. We’ve had some of our young guys in Greece already playing with him. I think we had six or seven guys go down, several coaches.

“So we are communicating a lot, and it’s about next year and it’s about winning.”

Recent signs have pointed towards Antetokounmpo wanting to stay in Milwaukee, and if it’s true that the Bucks have had players and coaches in Greece with the two-time MVP, then we can almost assuredly expect him to be suiting up for the Bucks next season.
