OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to a multi-year contract extension, General Manager Sam Presti announced Tuesday.
The Thunder has not publicly disclosed the details of the agreement, but sources told ESPN last week SGA agreed to a four-year extension 285 million “super maximum contract extension. It would make SGA the player with the highest annual salary in NBA history.
Gilgeous-Alexander was named the 2024-25 NBA MVP, Western Conference Finals MVP, and NBA Finals MVP, during a history season leading the Thunder to its first NBA Championship win.

He’s one of just four players to win an NBA championsip, earn MVP honors, and a scoring title in a single season, alongside legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal.

SGA contract extension fits Thunder champion
Gilgeous-Alexander appeared in 76 games (all starts) and averaged a league-best 32.7 points on 51.9% shooting, including 37.5% from three-point range, to go along with 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.72 steals (fifth in NBA) and 1.00 block in 34.2 minutes of action per game.
He became just the second player in NBA history to average at least 30 points on 50% shooting to go along with at least 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.50 steals and 1.00 block [Michael Jordan (1987-88 and 1990-91)].
The seven-year NBA veteran became just the fifth player in NBA history to post his third-straight season averaging 30-plus points on 50% shooting. He scored 2,484 during the championship season, the most in the NBA.
