Brooklyn Nets center Drew Timme saw his first action in the NBA last season after signing with the Nets following some explosive performances in the G League. Brooklyn had used Timme down the stretch when there were injuries to backup center Day’Ron Sharpe and while the former Gonzaga Bulldog showed out then, he’s been playing at a different level in Las Vegas.
In Sunday’s 102-96 summer league loss to the Washington Wizards, Timme dropped 30 points, five rebounds, and three assists while shooting 54.2% from the field in 31 minutes of playing time. Timme found a way to top what he did in Thursday’s 90-81 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder when he put up 22 points and nine rebounds while showcasing some of the footwork that has become synonymous with his career.
Timme was the best player on the floor for the Nets for the second game in a row and at this rate, he may not need to play another game at the summer league given what he has already shown. With that being said, Timme’s performance electrified the crowd at the Thomas and Mack Center on the UNLV campus and here is how social media reacted to his outing:
