LAS VEGAS — Memphis Grizzlies forward Santi Aldama is joining the board of directors for the National Basketball Players Association Foundation, the organization announced on July 14.

Aldama, along with Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody, will serve as advisers to the organization’s global programs. Their roles will be centered on identifying new opportunities for the NBPA to support the social work of players around the world.

Aldama joins Jaren Jackson Jr. as current Grizzlies players who have significant roles in the NBPA. Jackson has served as a vice president for the NBPA since 2023.

“We are honored to join the NBPA Foundation’s Board of Directors and play an integral role in supporting players and uplifting communities,” Aldama and Moody said in a joint statement. “Philanthropy and social responsibility are engrained in the DNA of our players, and this opportunity enables us to elevate our involvement and take a more active role in the Foundation’s impactful work.”

Each NBA team has a player representative and an alternate to represent the voice of the locker room. Aldama serves as the Grizzlies’ representative, while GG Jackson operates as the alternate.

The Grizzlies picked Aldama in the first round (No. 30) of the 2021 draft. Since then, the Spanish forward has been active in both the Memphis community and his native country.
