The Clippers’ 2024-25 season came to an end on Saturday night, as the team lost 101-120 to the Denver Nuggets in game 7 of the NBA playoffs first round. The Nuggets outscored the LA Clippers 35-19 in the third quarter. The Clippers came out of the first quarter 26-21, and everyone thought they would win, but Denver scored 37 points in the second quarter.

Another factor why the Clippers lost the series to the Denver Nuggets was that Russell Westbrook came up big in the series.  Though Westbrook’s time with the Clippers was a disappointment, Westbrook rebounded in Denver and the first round against his former team against the Clippers. In Game 1, Russell Westbrook put up 15 points in the overtime win against the Clippers. In Game 5, Westbrook had 21 points, including 3 three-pointers. In the game 7 win over the Clippers, Westbrook had 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 27 minutes.

Though the result wasn’t what the Clippers wanted in game 7, the team had bright spots from Kobe Brown, Jordan Miller, and Drew Eubanks. The Clippers also proved lots of people wrong heading into the season. Many thought the Clippers wouldn’t make the playoffs, while some had the Clippers as a play-in team heading into the 2024-25 season. With Kawhi sidelined to start the season, Paul George and Russell Westbrook leaving the Clippers this past offseason, to the 0-4 start at the Intuit Dome, the Clippers found ways to win and give lots of excitement to the fans. James Harden, Norman Powell, Zubac really improved and all carried the Clippers to another playoff berth this past year. To add to the joy and the excitement from the incredible first season at the Intuit Dome was the fact that the Team had fun playing together as a group, and the team stepped up in its defense under assistant coach Jeff Van Gundy.

With the offseason underway, look for the Clippers to be very active and upgrade their roster as the team will be back and even better.
