DENVER (KDVR) — Popular sports media outlet Bleacher Report dropped its Top 100 NBA Players Ever, and six players who have suited up for the Denver Nuggets made the list.
Chauncey Billups, No. 91: 1999-2000, 2008-2011
Chauncey Billups is known for his time with the Detroit Pistons during which he brought home an NBA championship in the 2003-2004 season.

Before he was on the Pistons, he made a year-long stop in the Mile High City in the 1999-2000 season, but it wouldn’t be the last time that “Mr. Big Shot” would suit up for Denver.
After finishing his career with the Pistons in 2008, Billups rejoined the Nuggets for three years. The Denver-born star played in his hometown for three more years before heading to the Big Apple.

Denver is the city where Mutombo first honed his craft as one of the best defensive players the NBA has ever seen.
Long-time Nuggets fans will never forget when he swatted eight shots in a game to help the No. 8-seeded Nuggets upset the No. 1-seeded Seattle Supersonics in 1994.

Alex English, No. 76: 1979-90

When English left the Nuggets, it was hard to find a franchise record he didn’t hold. He led the team in career points, assists, games and minutes, while also averaging the highest points per game total, among many others.
At the end of his career, he was a top 10 scorer of all time. The Nuggets retired his No. 2 in 1992, and it still hangs in the rafters of Ball Arena today.

Career statistics: 21.5 ppg, 3.6 apg, 5.5 rpg, 50.7 FG%
Carmelo Anthony, No. 60: 2003-2011
With more media attention on the NBA post-1990s, “Melo” felt like the first true superstar the Nuggets had. Kids all over Colorado could be seen in his No. 15 jersey while sporting his iconic braids.

Anthony was drafted by the Nuggets with the No. 3 overall pick in the famous 2003 draft class that featured Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
He was able to turn a team that only won 17 games the previous year into a playoff contender in his rookie season. He became one of the NBA’s best scoring threats and remains the No. 10 scorer of all time. He never missed the playoffs with the Nuggets and took them to a Western Conference Final.
Long live the Melo jab step.

Allen Iverson, No. 36: 2006-2008
Oh, what could have been…
When Iverson joined the Nuggets after being traded from the Philadelphia 76ers in 2006, he was the second leading scorer in the NBA, trailing only the aforementioned Carmelo Anthony — a dream for bucket getters everywhere.
The Nuggets made the playoffs as the No. 6 seed during Iverson’s first season, but that was about the peak of his time in Denver as attention centered on a feud between Iverson and referee Steve Javie the next season.
Before he could make his mark in Denver, one of the most influential basketball players of all time was traded to the Detroit Pistons for a package centered around Chauncey Billups.
