What fans need to know

HOUSTON, Texas – Have you been to the Toyota Center lately or are you planning to go? If so, you may want to familiarize yourself with the stadium’s updated bag policy.

Several events were happening at the stadium this past week, including the Rockets game and Sabrina Carpenter concert. But if you were like me and several other people who weren’t aware of the upgraded bag policy, you were left with a hard decision—trash your purse or pay for a locker.

TONIGHT! The Reunion Tour with Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Yolanda Adams, the Clark Sisters, and special guest Kierra Sheard-Kelly.
Doors – 6:00pm
Show – 7:00pm

According to the Toyota Center’s social media pages, the stadium upgraded its bag policy, encouraging fans to “travel light and not bring bags.” The new policy states that bags now have to be no larger than 4″ x 6″ x 2″, diaper bags and medical bags (subject to search upon entry). If your bag is larger than the requirement, you can check it in at the Binbox storage lockers outside of the Team Shop entrance or Skybridge entrance located on Level 3 of the Tundra Garage. The lockers are available to rent, starting at $10 per checked bag.

From my experience, this weekend, a lot of people who did not drive and decided to use ride-sharing apps, either trashed their bags or decided to leave the stadium altogether.

It’s not clear when the new bag policy went into effect, but if you plan to attend a sporting event or concert of any sort at the stadium, you will need to be aware of the changes.
