The Los Angeles Lakers are 1-2 so far in the Las Vegas summer league after their ugly 67-58 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. That means that they will not advance to the semifinals, which will be held on Saturday, July 19.

The 26 teams that do not advance to the semifinal round of summer league will each play one consolation game a few days from now. That will include the Lakers, whose next game will take place on Thursday versus the Boston Celtics.

The following day, Los Angeles will take on the Denver Nuggets to wrap up its summer league schedule. That game will be broadcast on NBA TV.

So far, between the California Classic and the main Las Vegas summer league, Bronny James has shown flashes of promising play interspersed between stretches of cold shooting. Dalton Knecht has struggled outside of one game, but forward Darius Bazley, who has spent five years in the NBA with four different teams, has been impressive at times as an energy player who will crash the boards, play aggressive defense and finish in transition.
