So far, in the offseason, the Golden State Warriors have been incredibly passive in terms of welcoming new signings – and have just missed out on another.
To be precise, the Golden State Warriors haven’t even made a single acquisition as the 2025 NBA Summer League nears its conclusion.
However, the Warriors have been linked to multiple players. The Dubs’ most discussed target remains Al Horford, who is unlikely to return to the Boston Celtics.
Additionally, the Warriors have also shown interest in De’Anthony Melton. Now, the organization is seemingly interested in another star.

Even if the Warriors manage to get both Horford and Melton, it wouldn’t likely be enough to win the Western Conference next season.
Despite that, NBA insider Marc Stein recently reported that the Warriors will likely end up with both before the new season kicks off.
“My expectation is that one way or the other, the Warriors are going to end up with both Horford and Melton on their roster,” Stein said via 95.7 The Game on X.
But is that all? No. The Warriors also held out hope of bringing in Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal.
“[And] they still have interest in Bradley Beal,” Stein added.
Beal has been a mainstay in the headlines due to a potential massive buyout with the Suns following a two-year stint with the franchise.
Warriors now miss out on Beal to the Clippers
Despite Golden State’s interest in Bradley Beal – it comes too late. The LA Clippers have won the race.
Shams Charania reports: “Three-time NBA All-Star Bradley Beal has agreed to a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns and plans to join the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option after clearing waivers.”

The LA Clippers interest in Beal had been heavily rumored, and they have capitalized on this to seal the deal for his services.
The Warriors on the other hand – have to look elsewhere, and hope they can at least tie up deals for Melton and Horford.
