In a huge blow to the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry has been ruled out for at least a week with a hamstring injury, as per an official statement from the franchise.

The 11-time All-Star suffered the injury during Golden State’s 99-88 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, limping out of action in the second quarter of Game 1 on Monday.

The Warriors have since then released an update on the injury, stating that Curry underwent an MRI on Wednesday morning, and the test confirmed the injury as a grade one hamstring strain.

“Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who exited last night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with 8:19 remaining in the second quarter with a strained left hamstring, underwent an MRI Wednesday morning. The MRI confirmed the injury as a Grade 1 hamstring strain,” the statement read.

“Curry will be re-evaluated in one week,” the team added.

Game 2 will be held in Minnesota on Thursday, with Games 3 and 4 both back home in San Francisco.

With the ‘Batman’ of the Golden State Warriors out for the rest of the game, the ‘Robin'(s) stepped up.

Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield, in particular, have become quite the sideshow, on and off the court.

When Curry went down with his injury against Minnesota, Butler and Hield delivered on both ends of the floor.

Butler pitched in 20 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and sound defense. Hield hit five 3-pointers among his 24 points to go with eight rebounds and no turnovers for a team-leading plus-22 rating.

Both of them will have to keep that up now that the Warriors have ruled Curry out for at least the next three games.

“I think we all want (number) 30 back, that is for sure,” Butler said Tuesday.

“But we want him to do his best for himself, best for our group. Until then, we can hold down the fort. I know we can.”

The Warriors, who were the last team to advance to the second round after finally beating the higher-seeded Houston Rockets in a seven-game series on Sunday, will need to bring their intensity back for Game 2 on Thursday, with the Wolves bound to be hungry for revenge.
