Stan Son gives updates for Jalen Suggs’ injury status Friday vs. the Raptors.

UPDATE: Suggs will not return to Friday’s game with back spasms.

Cole Anthony started the second half for Suggs.

With 3:14 left in the second quarter of Friday’s game against the Toronto Raptors, Magic guard Jalen Suggs darted into a passing lane to try and get a steal. Unfortunately, Suggs immediately grabbed at his back as he lunged forward. He was on the court writhing in pain for more than a minute. He eventually made it to the locker room with the help of a wheelchair.

Prior to exiting, Suggs contributed six points, two rebounds, an assist, and a steal in 13 minutes. Anthony Black is dealing with a back injury himself, so Cole Anthony will likely see extended playing time for as long as Suggs is out. Tristan da Silva should also see an increase in usage rate.
